These fun and whimsical ornaments are handmade in Zimbabwe out of recycled aluminum cans. With seven different animals to choose from, they are created using a variety of different soda and beer cans, so your order will vary from what is pictured. Each generally measures between 3" and 4" on its longest dimension, with the tallest (the giraffe, of course) being 5" in height. Enjoy a holiday decoration that is eco-friendly and directly support African artisans!

In the language of the Shona People of Zimbabwe, mbare (pronounced “im-bah-ree”) means "a gathering of things" or "marketplace." The founder and president of MBARE grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe, and has always believed that Africa needs trade, not aid. The artistic skills that these artists possess are often passed down through generations and represent an invaluable accumulation of knowledge and talent.
