These creative holiday decorations were created from those ubiquitous gotchic-style wood fence post finials. Melonart paints each with a different pattern, lines the base with felt, and tops it with a felt star. A perfect compliment to your Christmas decor or a truly unique gift for someone who loves the holiday season!
Tree 1 and Tree 4 are made from taller post caps, measuring a bit over 11-inches-tall from the base to the top of the felt star. Tree 2 and Tree 3 are about 9.5-inches-tall. All four have a 4" x 4" base.

Maryellen Costello Dunbar, the artist behind Melonart, relocated to Cape Cod in 2017. She has always loved color, patterns, and reusing items of every description. In addition to creating the pieces we feature at Repurposed, she has taught art to pre-K through adult ed, and developed her own "cottage industry" of hand painted furniture, murals, and accessories.
