Osterizer Blender Lamp - White

The design of the classic beehive Osterizer blender is so aesthetically pleasing that it is in museums. And they were great blenders, too. Still, here at Repurposed we can't help but be just a little happy when the motor on one of these beauties finally burns out, because then we get to make something cool!

Finding this particular blender resulted in a design update from our previous version. This Osterizer had two speeds and a toggle on the front to select "hi" to the left or "lo" to the right. We wanted to do something different, but having two brightnesses seemed boring.

When you flip left, the light inside the blender jar goes on, as you'd probably expect from this type of lamp. But when you flip to the right, in the lo position, you get something completely unexpected: LED lights mounted inside the ring that supports the blender shine downward on the white body of the blender. The effect is perfect as a nightlight or for a little ambiance.

Both the main lamp and the downlights have hidden dimmers to help you get exactly the look you want. We'll include the white swirly LED bulb (shown in the last photo), but you can use any dimmable lightbulb (up to 60 watts). The LEDs are not replaceable, but we'll guarantee that they work for at least a year—and they should last much longer, depending on usage. (We installed them for accent lighting in our store and they've been turned on 24/7 for over a year now.)

This is not a reproduction. This is a vintage metal Osterizer blender with a glass jar. The body of the blender shows normal wear and tear; there are no chips on the glass. For safety, we replaced the cord and the toggle switch, and removed the blades. This is a one-of-a-kind item—at least until we find a duplicate of this model.
