These clocks are created from vintage vinyl LP's, and feature beautiful laser cut numbers! 12" in diameter and 1.5" deep, these groovy wall clocks feature a white layer in between two black vinyl records, so the numbers are high contrast and readable, on even a dark colored wall! Each clock is made by hand in Philadelphia and features a precise quartz clock movement, a vintage record label in the center of the clock, and we'll even toss in the needed AA battery.
We never know which titles we're going to get when we place an order, so if you see one you like, get it now! We get only one of each title. Once it's gone, we cannot get another. Vinylux founder Jeff Davis began moding vinyl records over custom-made forms as part of a graduate school thesis project. His designs preserve the look and feel of the old vinyl, including the original record labels, while creating new, useful, elegant objects.
Vinylux gets its supply of recycled vinyl from record shops, dealers, collectors, and, in some cases, from people's attics. Every year they recycled and reuse approximately 250,000 records, or almost 55,000 pounds of material. Vinyl scrap from their shop is sent to record-pressing plants where it is re-ground and turned back into brand new records, closing the loop on their material stream.
