When we opened Repurposed, Donovan Designs was the first Provincetown-based creator to approach us about having their products in our store. Since that day, we've had totes made from coffee bags, pillows made from neckties and jeans, and lots of other beautiful creations. The challenge with Donovan Designs is that everything they make—literally everything—is one-of-a-kind, and for a small business, it's challenging to take a photo and upload every individual item.
But how could we NOT share this?
This pillow is one of two created by Donovan Designs with the name Sand, Sea, Sky. (The other one sold.) The front of this applique design was created from men's shirts. The colors evoke a sunset over the water from the beach, starting at the bottom with the tans of the sand, the blues of the sea, and then the colors of a vibrant sunset at the top. This is a large pillow—almost two feet long per side. It has a zipper back and a down insert. A true work of art that just happens to be a pillow.

About Donovan Designs
Beth Donovan has been sewing all her life. As a child, she would take clothing apart to better understand how it was put together—a technique she still uses today. She makes her own patterns to create bags, pillows, mittens, and quilts from upcycled materials like denim jeans, coffee bags, button-front shirts, neckties, and wool sweaters.
Donovan Designs was the first local maker at Repurposed, joining us shortly after we opened. Because each of her creations is genuinely one-of-a-kind and therefore would need to be individually photographed before being sold on our website, we have many more Donovan Designs products in our Provincetown store than we have been able to list online.
