Sometimes we create something we couldn’t make again no matter how hard we tried! Case in point...
We started with an old meat grinder. After painting it a beautiful royal blue, we decided it looked a little too perfect, so we scuffed it up a bit before adding a pull chain socket taken from a very dated and ugly lamp and a gear from an old drill for the chain fob.
Next came the silver colander for the shade, topped with a finial made from the knob off an old pot lid.
While the lamp was able to stand on its own, we thought it needed a bit more stability with a wider base, which is where the wooden cheese board came in.
All of the above pieces were found separately in thrift stores or at yard sales, or were leftover from other projects. We added a new cord and purchased a 5" harp for the shade to get the look we wanted. The 4.5W LED globe bulb (included) is smaller than average (to fit under the 5" harp), but gives off the light of a 60W incandescent.
MEASUREMENTS: 9" x 9" x 17" to the top of the finial.
